Workshops

Let SOOP give your drama students a practical edge with our range of workshops.

SOOP’s practitioners have decades of real world teaching experience between them, and so are perfectly equipped to bring the best of both worlds to your students - practical insight into the making of theatre combined with relevant educational outcomes. Whether your centre offers GCSEs, A Levels, BTECs or any qualification from Level 2 - 4, we have something we can offer you that will make theatre come to life.

SOOP’s workshops are highly practical, drawing from our own techniques and research, delivered by experienced practitioners with an excellent knowledge of current specifications and enhanced CRB disclosures. Sessions can be run over 2 hours, half-days or full days, depending on your needs and budget.

Workshops currently available include:

Devising

As devising specialists, students will benefit enormously from our unique insight and practice in this most challenging process, using your own stimuli or example starting points, we will cover everything from initial response, through exploration and rehearsal techniques to final outcomes, with particular attention to form, style and structure, with a multidisciplinary approach.

Improvisation

SOOP creates a supportive, playful environment in which students can learn to unlock their creative subconscious, establishing the ‘rules’ for successful improvisation so students become better, more generous and spontaneous performers and collaborators.
